چکیده

One of the main challenges of MANET is the design of robust routing algorithms that adapt to the frequent and randomly changing network topology. A variety of routing protocols have been proposed and several have been extensively simulated. In this paper, we compare and evaluate the performance of two types of On demand routing protocolsAd-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol, which is uni path and Ad hoc On-demand Multi path Distance Vector (AOMDV) routing protocol. We note that on comparing the performance of AODV and AOMDV, AOMDV incurs more routing overhead and packet delay than AODV but it had a better efficiency when it comes to number of packets dropped and packet delivery.

Performance Evaluation of Probabilistic Relay in Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Ad Hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector under Highly Dynamic Environments

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are a specific class of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Since vehicles tend to move in a high speed, the network topology is rapidly changed. Thus vehicle’s connectivity problem is one of the interesting issues in VANETs. Ad hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) is an extended version of ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV). AOMDV is designed to ...

Impact of link breaks on AODV and AOMDV in MANET: A Performance Analysis

MANETs are ad hoc multi hop networks, formed of mobile battery chargeable devices and commonly used in emergency situations. With its dynamic topology and limited energy level they often come across with link breaks. This paper analyzes how energy consumption of the mobile devices and density of mobile nodes affects the performance of MANET. AODV and AOMDV are reactive routing protocols used in...

Preemptive Routing & Intrusion Detection for MANETs

An ad-hoc network will often change rapidly in topology, this courses for routes in the network to often disappear and new to arise. The Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol(AODV), is based on the principle of discover routes as needed. In this paper we will extend the definition of AODV with the ability to discover multiple routes to a host and switch between them, if an active ro...

Performance Comparison of Routing Protocols in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks under Realistic Mobility Patterns

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) have recently gained considerable attention from both research and industry communities. One of the challenges posed by the study of VANETs is the definition of routing protocols design. In this paper, a realistic simulation environment is developed based on Mobility model generator for Vehicular networks (MOVE) and Network Simulator (NS2). The performance of ...
